Lux Ru Origins

About Lux Ru

My name is Lavarn Green , founder of Lux Ru.

Throughout my life, I’ve explored numerous business ventures and opportunities. Like many entrepreneurs, I was always searching for something that truly aligned with my passion, vision, and personal experiences. While I found success in different areas, I often felt that something was missing.

The inspiration for Lux Ru came from a surprisingly simple problem.

In 2018, I became serious about maintaining my waves and began researching the products needed to achieve the results I wanted. Like many people in the wave community, I invested in brushes, pomades, and durags. However, I quickly became frustrated with the quality of the durags available on the market. One durag I purchased from a local beauty supply store ripped after only a few days. Another one I ordered online ripped the very first time I wore it.

Those experiences made me realize there was an opportunity to create something better.

Rather than continuing to purchase products that failed to meet my expectations, I decided to develop my own. What started as a personal solution soon evolved into a business dedicated to providing quality products that people could trust.

That idea became Lux Ru.

The name Lux Ru represents our commitment to bringing luxury to everyday streetwear culture. We believe premium quality, style, and durability should be accessible to everyone. Our products are designed for individuals who take pride in their appearance, value quality craftsmanship, and embrace the culture that helped inspire the brand.

Today, Lux Ru is proudly 100% Black-owned and built on the principles of entrepreneurship, perseverance, and continuous growth. What began with a single product has grown into a brand that represents ambition, self-confidence, and the pursuit of excellence.

Lux Ru is more than a durag company. It is a brand built from experience, inspired by culture, and dedicated to delivering products that meet the standards our customers deserve.
